Investing in the climate issue can be costly in the short term, but profitable in the long term. Not investing can cost considerably more. Even now, the cost of the greenhouse effect is estimated at 237 billion Euros annually, according to UN calculations.
Today, a company’s brand and image are its most valuable assets. Simply having better products and service is no longer enough. Values and responsibility have become part of a company’s competitiveness when it comes to attracting and keeping customers, attracting talented employees and forming strategic alliances.
The companies that become ClimateAid partners have shown a strong commitment to solving our biggest environmental problem. ClimateAid is a unique platform from which the public and private sectors can take a stand and communicate climate issues together. ClimateAid’s partner companies are on the front lines, leading the way.
ClimateAid partners must fulfill four requirements:
- The company’s management must make a clear commitment to reducing the company’s affect on the climate.
- The company must develop and implement a clear policy for its climate impact for the entire organization.
- The company must have or be developing a plan with concrete goals for reducing emissions or greenhouse gases in its production and for its suppliers.
- The company must have or be developing transparent accountability for all of the above points.
